People from all over the country want to visit Dallas and attend Creating Change. The Task Force believes that the conference should be financially accessible to as many of our attendees as possible and community housing is one of the foundations of how we keep Creating Change affordable.
If you are able, please join us in this commitment by hosting an attendee in your home.
If you are attending the conference and need a safe place to stay as an alternative to the host hotel, please request community housing.
The National LGBTQ Task Force strives to make Creating Change a safe and welcoming environment for all. Creating Change attendees do not engage in sexual harassment; do not provide alcohol to attendees under the age of 21; do not provide controlled substances/drugs to any person. The National LGBTQ Task Force expects that Community Housing Hosts and Guests will also abide by these policies in the context of community housing placements.
Community Housing Guests are placed in private homes. The National LGBTQ Task Force expects that Guests will respect Hosts’ wishes, limits and boundaries with regard to: the agreed-upon length of stay; alcohol and tobacco use in the home; uses of the kitchen and other common areas of the home; and any other procedures of the house.
Hosts and Guests will be matched in alignment with information provided on the registration forms. For example, a Host who indicates there is a cat in the home will not be matched with a Guest who indicates allergic incompatibility with cats.
